The buyback of candy by registered dentists is a national program, to encourage our kids (with alarmingly high obesity rates) to eat less sweets (saving their teeth as well), and also do some goodwill by sending the extra candy to our troops to give them a bit of Halloween where they are serving…….It’s not a bad idea, just something that would have struck me as insane when I was a kid (it’s not like we had candy in our house any other time, we didn’t), and we had ALREADY done something by sending in our UNICEF boxes…..I would save the candy buyback program for people who overbought and have extra left over, but that’s just one man’s opinion……(Halloween and the bounty I was so proud of collecting as a kid was a little bit sacred to me, so it still feels a bit like Joan Crawford letting her kids only keep one present for Christmas)…….

p.s. Nathen sent in his $22.93 to UNICEF this morning, and was very proud of it…..
